Worthing council tax charge to increase by just 15p per week

We will work more closely with residents to provide the services they want and need over the next 12 months, with an increase of just 15p a week in the average amount we charge.

The Worthing charge - the share of council tax payable to the borough council - will cost the average household just £5.15 per week over the next 12 months after the Full Council approved the budget for 2024/25 yesterday. This equates to a Worthing charge of £267.66 for the year.

We're committed to making Worthing even cleaner, and will use digital technology to make the cleansing and waste services we provide more efficient and effective.

We're focused on making the borough greener, with the transformation of Montague Place into a welcoming town centre green space for all our citizens and visitors, young and old, a key project.

We'll work more closely with community groups and local businesses to revitalise the town centre for residents, at major sites like Teville Gate and including events like an expanded Worthing Festival.

And we will continue to support those most in need over the next 12 months, partnering with community organisations to provide a safety net for the most vulnerable, such as through food banks and warm hubs.
